The dog training industry is unregulated and anyone can call themselves a dog trainer. It is a constantly changing field and it is essential that dog training professionals keep up to date with current thinking and research, through attending talks, seminars, conferences, reading books and watching webinars that are given by other professionals in the field that use modern, up to date training techniques. Professional organisatons also insist on continuing personal development for members.
